As some long forgotten man once said. "Here be cold and here be snow". The canals are covered by thin layer of ice, too thin for the popular sport, or hobby, of skating. The snow covers the ice so it looks safe but it isn't. The Netherlands are basically flat. Here in Hoofddorp one can find a ski slope. But there is no snow on it. It's a fake ski slope, man made structure mostly made of steel. And right next to it is The Japanese restaurant. Really nice place where the food is cooked in front of you.
